Axel Schmid is a young German designer born in 1971 in Nassau/Bahamas. After a practical training in metal and woodworking, he studied industrial design at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste Stuttgart in the classes of Professors Klaus Lehmann and Richard Sapper.
After graduation, he received a scholarship from the German Industrial Design Association VDID. He currently works for INGO MAURER in Munich and has received several awards, including the Bavarian State Prize for Young Designers.
