Our lighting, from Anglepoise

Everybody knows the British design studio Anglepoise; its timeless industrial style in the 30s brought the Original lamp model that became a reference all around the world.

The very first table lamp was made by George Carwadine, a great engineer and designer who perfected a spring system for automobiles, which was later applied to his perfectly stable lamps that were flexible and adjustable.

The Original table light, made in metal and exercising a great precision, was a huge success all over the globe and has been for over 70 years now. Despite being extensively copied, it remains a hallmark of British design.

In the 50s, the lamp arrived in France in the famous luxury company, Hermes. The craftsmen even customized it and sold it to their customers with a leather base. At that time, Anglepoise entered the luxury universe.

The design studio eventually expanded the collection to include variations in colors and finishes as well as models: floor lamps, wall lamps and pendants.

Even Paul Smith created his own version with his own unique colors.
